Information and Communication Technologies Talent Initiative: Phase One Research Findings
NorTech has partnered with several other organizations in the region to gain a better understanding of the supply and demand for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) professionals and ICT skilled workers in the region (similar research was conducted between 2001 and 2002). The key issue to be addressed by the group is the shortage of adequately skilled workers required to meet the demand of Northeast Ohio Software Association (NEOSA) member companies. It is important to understand the supply and scope of the demand in order to develop appropriate strategies for filling the identified gaps. The ultimate goal of the project is to ensure that there are enough skilled workers to continue growing ICT related companies and occupations in the region. The partnering organizations and companies will guide the research which will form the basis for developing a roadmap of strategies and recommendations to improve the availability of ICT talent in the region.
