Headquartered in Aurora, Ohio, the company manufactures a variety of energy efficient lighting products for professional and consumer markets. The company employs nearly 200 people focused on product research, product development, testing, light assembly, distribution, sales and marketing.
TCP has been consistently ahead of the curve in the energy efficient lighting industry, and was the first to introduce practical dimmable Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) technology and the SpringLamp® spiral. The company is also developing residential LED lighting technology and has launched several advanced fully dimmable LED lamp designs into the marketplace, setting the pace for future design, and earning extensive industry acclaim.
In the past, existing manufacturing processes for CFL's have limited TCP's ability to source CFL products in the United State. Recent advancements in automation of the CFL manufacturing process, pioneered by TCP, have allowed the company to look at new ways to expand their manufacturing capabilities outside of China. As a result, in mid-2009, TCP announced its plan to build the first North American CFL manufacturing plant adjacent to its world headquarters in Aurora, Ohio. TCP feels this further reinforces its faith and commitment to investing in the future of Northeast Ohio and will have an impact on the region's emerging advanced energy industry.
