Background
- NorTech learned that the Secretary was planning to speak at the City Club. Leveraging NorTech's relationships with the White House, we successfully persuaded Chu to participate in a roundtable meeting with regional advanced energy companies.
Impact
- 20 regional companies had the opportunity to meet with Chu. Also, NorTech provided a brief description of each company to Chu's office in advance. The exposure of these cluster companies individually, and the regional capabilities collectively, directly support roadmap actions to raise the profile of the NEO advanced energy cluster as well as individual companies.
- In pursuit of actions outlined in the roadmaps, NorTech was planning a series of meetings at DOE. Based on the interaction with the Secretary and his staff, his staff helped to secure and coordinate several meetings for NorTech at high levels in the Department.
- The fact that the Secretary met with NorTech and our cluster companies adds credibility to our interactions with other DOE offices and other agencies thereby boosting our federal engagement efforts.
