Bioscience and Healthcare

The region’s bioscience and healthcare assets in research, clinical care, and industry are well known, but in order to remain competitive we must continue to invest in these areas. Other states have upped the ante for competing in this emerging field significantly. We should continue to build on our clinical and research strengths in regenerative medicine, cardiovascular medicine, medical imaging, neurostimulation, and oncology. We should also look for opportunities to expand the reach of our health care services industries, both within and outside the region, through innovative new service and product offerings. Support for areas where the region is recognized as a national and international center of excellence is critical, as is support for bioscience commercialization where the region is just starting to be recognized.
